Eliene Augenbraun is a creative director, award-winning filmmaker, journalist, recovering scientist, and teacher. With a passion for storytelling and extensive experience in broadcast, digital video, and podcast journalism, Eliene has worked on a wide range of projects from short films to documentaries. She has an eye for detail and a knack for making even the most complicated story human and compelling. Eliene's dedication to her craft has led to numerous accolades and awards, including a Cannes mobile video award and the AAAS Science Journalism Award for Documentary Film. She prides herself on being a good creative partner to her many clients.
Eliene offers a unique perspective on how to harness the power of ever-evolving media to tell compelling human stories.In addition to creating media, she teaches non-journalists how to tell stories in their own voice.
Awards
ScienCentral's story about glow-in-the-dark green bald mice won the Cannes MIPCOM Mobie Award against ABC's Desperate Housewives, Winnie the Pooh, and Superman. ScienCentral.com (now closed) was recognized by Popular Science as a top science news site. Our PBS documentary, Transistorized!, won a AAAS Science journalism prize and an Aurora for best documentary that year. My Scientific American and Nature video teams won numerous awards for video stories.
